Great tool!

I just started experimenting with your tool, and I have to say that it's just awesome! It makes working with shaders much more intuitive. One tip, I've found useful is that for debugging purposes, it's sometimes useful to remove the "custom tool" declaration and switch the "XNA Framework Content" back on. That way, after I screw up my HLSL, XNA will do an OK job of pointing me to the line I screwed up on.

I haven't taken the time to look at the source code yet, but depending on what's all involved some additional keywords might be useful. For instance, many XNA samples declare textures as "texture" instead of "texture2D".
